Two rules to graph. For each one: fill the table, check it, plot the rows, then press Draw the line. After that, type any in-between x you like, a decimal or a negative, and press Plot it. Watch where the point lands.
What the line stands forEvery point on that line is a true sentence about the rule: (1.5, 2) says that when x is 1.5, y is 2, and 2 × 1.5 − 1 really is 2. Every point off the line is a false one. The line is the whole rule in one picture.
