Practice: try it, then get help one step at a time

Intercepts from standard form, and rewriting into y = mx + b. Hint gives a nudge, Show next step shows one worked step at a time, Reveal answer checks, and Hide help / start over clears the card.

Finished the practice? Print a page that shows each question, what you typed or chose, the correct answer, and how it went. Good for showing a teacher or keeping in a folder.

On paper or an index card. Use the math word and the plain-English word.

  1. Find both intercepts of 5x + 2y = 10.
  2. Rewrite 5x + 2y = 10 as y = mx + b.
  3. Rewrite y − 1 = 4(x + 2).
  4. Why do we rewrite into y = mx + b?
Check your exit ticket
  1. (0, 5) and (2, 0).
  2. 2y = −5x + 10, so y = −{frac(5,2)}x + 5.
  3. y − 1 = 4x + 8, so y = 4x + 9.
  4. It shows m and b, the two numbers with the two jobs, so we can read the slope and y-intercept and graph.
