Practice Problems
Try them, get help one step at a time, then print how it went.
Practice: try it, then get help one step at a time
Deciding, then writing. Hint gives a nudge, Show next step shows one worked step at a time, Reveal answer checks, and Hide help / start over clears the card. Say same m, different b every time.

Finished the practice? Print a page that shows each question, what you typed or chose, the correct answer, and how it went. Good for showing a teacher or keeping in a folder.
Exit ticket
On paper or an index card. Use the math word and the plain-English word.
- In your own words: what makes two lines parallel, on a graph?
- Are y = −2x + 1 and y = −2x + 6 parallel? Why?
- Write the line parallel to y = 4x + 1 through (2, 3).
- How does this connect to the family of lines?

- The same slope (same steepness and direction) with different y-intercepts. Same m, different b.
- Yes: both have m = −2, and b is different.
- Keep m = 4. 3 = 4 × 2 + b, so b = −5. y = 4x − 5.
- Parallel lines are the members with the same m and different b: the same line slid up or down.
