Practice: try it, then get help one step at a time
Right triangles, rectangles, and what slope cannot do. Hint gives a nudge, Show next step shows one worked step at a time, Reveal answer checks, and Hide help / start over clears the card.

Finished the practice? Print a page that shows each question, what you typed or chose, the correct answer, and how it went. Good for showing a teacher or keeping in a folder.
Exit ticket
On paper or an index card. Use the math word and the plain-English word.
- What two slope facts let you test a shape?
- A(0, 0), B(2, 4), C(6, 2): is ABC a right triangle? Where is the right angle?
- What does it mean to prove a shape is a rectangle with algebra?
- Why can slope not tell you whether a rectangle is a square?

- Equal slopes mean parallel sides. Slopes that multiply to −1 mean a right angle.
- AB slope 2, BC slope −12, CA slope 13. 2 × (−12) = −1, so yes, at B.
- Compute the four side slopes and show opposite sides are equal (parallel) and neighbors multiply to −1 (right angles), instead of judging by eye.
- Slope says nothing about length. Equal sides need the distance formula, Unit 11.
