One more question: dots, or a line? Connect the points only if both amounts can be split into smaller parts. Minutes and gallons can: 2.5 minutes makes sense, and so does half a gallon. So draw the line. Cups of lemonade sold and dogs cannot: you cannot sell 2.5 cups at the stand, and nobody owns 2.5 dogs. Leave those as dots.
