Practice Problems

Try them, get help one step at a time, then print how it went.

Practice: try it, then get help one step at a time

Finn

Try it on your own first, even if you are not sure. A wrong first try tells you more than a blank box. Then press Hint and I will meet you there.

Read points with the sentence frame, explain the origin and (1, r), and decide what a point off the line means. Hint gives a nudge, Show next step shows one worked step at a time, Reveal answer checks, and Hide help / start over clears the card.

Finished the practice? Print a page that shows each question, what you typed or chose, the correct answer, and how it went. Good for showing a parent or teacher, or keeping in a folder.

Exit ticket

On paper or an index card. Use the math word and the plain-English word.

  1. A graph of a car's gas use goes through (1, 28) and (5, 140), gallons across and miles up. What does (1, 28) mean?
  2. What does the origin, (0, 0), mean on a proportional graph?
  3. On y = 8x, is (4, 30) part of the story?
Check your exit ticket
  1. In 1 gallon, the car goes 28 miles. That is the unit rate.
  2. Zero in gives zero out. It is on every proportional graph.
  3. No. 4 hours gives 32, not 30, so the point is off the line.
