๐ Earth Systems Study Center ๐
From the Core to the Soil
Everything under your feet is moving, melting, crumbling, and rebuilding โ and it all connects. Four units, fifteen interactive missions, zero boring worksheets.

Standard ESS.6.2.1 โ model Earth's layers by position, composition, and density.
Standard ESS.6.2.2 โ how moving plates build landforms and cause earthquakes and eruptions.
Standard ESS.6.2.3 โ the rock cycle, and how different rocks become different soils.
Standard ESS.6.3 โ soil health, sustainable vs. unsustainable land use, and stewardship.
The whole center, one gauntlet at a time.
๐ For teachers & parents
This center is built directly to the North Carolina 2023 6th-grade science standards: each unit card names its standard (ESS.6.2.1 through ESS.6.3.2), so you always know what's being covered. The Space Center covers the companion strand, ESS.6.1 (Earth's place in the universe). Suggested order: Unit 1 โ 2 โ 3 โ 4, then the Master Challenges as review.
๐ก The big idea
Nothing down there is finished. Continents drift, mountains rise and crumble, rocks melt and re-form, and the soil in a garden used to be a volcano or a seabed. Earth recycles everything โ it just takes its time.
