Pattern Hunter For Teachers

Pattern Hunter · Lesson 1

The Pattern Zoo

Patterns come in species — repeating, growing, and number patterns. Learn to recognize each one, and you'll start seeing them everywhere.

Unit 2 · Lesson 1 of 4 25 XP available

Welcome to the zoo! 🦁

Every pattern is a promise about what comes next. Crack the rule, and you can predict the future of the sequence. In this lesson you'll meet the three big species of pattern — and by the end, you'll identify them in the wild like a real Pattern Hunter.

Game 1: Repeating Patterns 🔄

A repeating pattern loops the same chunk over and over: A-B-A-B or A-B-C-A-B-C. Find the loop, and you know what's next. Tap the next item in each sequence!

Game 2: Growing & Number Patterns 📈

A growing pattern changes by a rule — add 3, double it, add one more each time. Crack each rule and type the next number. (Press Enter or tap away to check.)

🌻 Meet Fibonacci — nature's favorite pattern

You just cracked it in Game 2: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13… where each number is the sum of the two before it. This one sequence shows up all over nature.

🔍 Found in the wild
